The Stance and Start Foundation, established in 2024, is proud to offer scholarships to student-
athletes who have demonstrated dedication to football and academic success. This foundation
was created as an extension of the Rhode Island Football Academy, an esteemed program that
has been shaping young athletes since 2003.
Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Submit a 500-word essay detailing how football has impacted your life both on and off
the field.
• Be committed to attending a trade school, community college, or four-year
college/university in the fall of 2025.
• Have attended any camp session at the RI Football Academy.
• Deadline May 10, 2025
This scholarship is designed to recognize student-athletes who have embraced the values of
football—discipline, teamwork, leadership, and perseverance—and applied them to their
academic and personal lives.
We will be presenting the scholarships to each recipient at our 2nd Annual Stance and Start
Foundation Golf Tournament on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Richmond Country Club.
